The fun doesn't end there. My TOP FIVE list (and highlighted number) is below, along with this a special giveaway just for stopping by!

Let's begin:

My Top Five Places for Summertime Reading
  1. THE BEACH! - I am a total beach fiend. Any excuse is my reason for hanging out, smelling the ocean air, and reading a total escapist romance!
  2. THE POOL! - If I can't make it to the beach, the pool is clearly the next best thing, right? Of course it is. Since I read on my iPad a lot, I just need a little protection from the water and the glare.
  3. My Local Coffee Shop (Yeah, that would be Starbucks!) - Anyone who knows me knows that I am a serious LOVER of LATTES! That should probably be in my tagline somewhere. LOL! And in the summer, I love to not only work (write) at my local coffee place, but read. Especially my more serious, thrillers. IDK, something about a thriller and coffee...you know?
  4. Curled up in my favorite chair at home - when in doubt, my favorite comfy chair is always an amazing place to read. Especially when it's late at night and I don't want to disturb my hubby - which happens a lot since I get obsessed over books. LOL!!
  5. Amusement Parks - I know, that sounds strange right? But, honestly, I can read anywhere and everywhere. So when my kids say, "Mom, drive us to Disneyland or SeaWorld" I am much more inclined to say "sure" if I have a great book or two or FIVE cued up and ready to read.

That's my top five list. What is yours? Leave me a comment and enter the giveaway to win the ebook CRUX by Julie Reece. Here is the scoop on Crux:

She should have run. Now, she'll have to fight. Eighteen year old Birdie may be homeless, but she's surviving, that is until a mysterious guy throws money in the air like a crazy game show host and she grabs some with the idea she'll be able to buy dinner that night. In that singular moment, unassuming Birdie becomes the girl in everyone's viewfinder. Thugs want to kill her. Money-guy wants to recruit her. The very hot, very rich and very out of her league Grey Mathews wants to save her. Birdie, though, wants nothing to do with any of them until she realizes fate didn't bring them all together. Her heritage did. Now, with only twenty-one days left, she's got to decide whether to follow in the footsteps of those before her or risk her life for people she's only just met.

Entering the giveaway is EASY! Just complete the rafflecopter form below. I will pick a winner on 6/20.

That's it for this stop. Time for you to hop on over to the NEXT stop in the Summer Reads Scavenger Hunt. Head on over to Susan Kaye Quinn's blog next!

GOOD LUCK!

  1. (This is so weird! I've never ever been the first to comment before!)
My favorite place to read is the staircase, or a comfy chair too. I would like to say the beach but....(this is where people look at me funny) I've never been to a beach, or even seen the ocean. The downside to living in the Midwest, I guess.

  2. My favorite spot to read is curled up on my couch, preferably under a blanket (I like to be cool), with my dogs snuggled around me. :)

  8. I can read anywhere, but my favorite place to curl up with a good book is in the chair in the corner of my room. I also like to lie down on my bed and read.

  12. My favorite places to read during the summer are:
    - In our garden, underneath the apple tree.
    - When it's raining, on my bed so I can hear the raindrops falling against my skyview window.
    - When on vacation either the beach or the poolside.

  13. My shady patio with a large cold drink.

  18. I love reading on my big hand made swing under our hickory tree. It provides the perfect shade and scenery.

  19. My hammock gets my vote for first choice, but a beach is definitely second.

  20. I have already read SO many books... I just really need to get to the reviews! I love reading at my local library, they have a park like thing right outside with fountains for the kids to jump through the mist is just enough in the air to cool off but not enough to ruin my book or kindle!

It's Release Day!

Wow! This post was a long time coming. My 6th novel (and 17th book), OUTBREAK, book #2 in the Solomon Experiments, is officially out day.

This is a special release for me. I had struggled to find my fiction mojo after my last book. Related to what was going on in my personal life and some residual feelings about my mother's death, it took me nearly 2 years to reconnect with my inner artist. The struggle was worth it, though, as I figured out some things about myself as an artist that I needed.

Now, I hope all of you will enjoy the book as much as I've enjoyed writing it.

OUTBREAK is the continuing story of Dakota, an 18 year old girl wrestling with her new awareness of abilities that make her the target of a black ops group. Here is a little more about the story:

Dakota never thought she’d crave her old life in Boresville. Not until the Creator’s assassins came and took everything, everyone, she cared about—all except for David. He’s the only thing she has left, and he wants he…

Collide and Transcend in Audio Format

Wow - it has too long since my last post! A lot has happened over the past few months. First, I've decided to re-launch my entire backlist. What does this mean? New covers, new interiors, and, in some cases, new and expanded stories. It also means releasing the books in audiobook format. Audiobooks are something I've wanted to do for a while. And now it is finally happening.

In December, I released the audiobook formats of Transcend and Collide - each with new covers and new interiors in the digital and print versions. I plan on revealing the new covers for the rest of the Solomon Experiment series (the sequels to Collide) later this month, with the actual books coming in late Feb and March/April.

In Spring, I will begin the re-launch of the Requiem series, including significantly expanded stories for books 2 and 3, new covers, new titles and audiobook formats.

I don't plan on only re-releasing books in 2016. In addition to the two new books in the Solomon Experiments, I ha…
