On to my Bookanista Shout out for MIND GAMES by Kiersten White:

Release Date: 2/19/2013

Basic Blurb: (from Amazon)

Two sisters, bound by impossible choices, are determined to protect each other—no matter the cost.
James's frozen face melts into a smile. "Do you want to know the trick to getting in trouble under the watchful eye of a psychic?"
I think of the nailed-shut windows. I think of Clarice. I think of the two, the two, the two who are now zero. Tap tap. "Yes, I absolutely do."
"Don't plan it. Don't even think about it. The second you get an inkling of what you could do, do it then. Never plan anything ahead of time. Always go on pure instinct."
I smile. "I think I can do that."
Why I liked it:
This is a wonderful, and different, read from Kiersten White's other books. Darker and more sinister, Mind Games is a great thriller that will keep you on the edge of your seat. I loved the plot, the emotional build and the overall writing style White delivers in this new book. I am looking forward to more from this darker side of Kiersten!

And tell me, what are you reading these days?

    1. I definitely agree that this was different from her other books, and I loved that (I also love thrillers).

    2. Great to see more positive feedback on MIND GAMES. I'm a huge Kiersten White fangirl (her books are at the very top of my shelf in a place of honor beside my limited edition white-covered Twilight books) but I haven't made the leap to her dark side yet. I'm encouraged by reviews like this one. While I've read dark literature, on the tenor of Hunger Games and Stung, there's something about reading it from my favorite light-hearted fiction author. I guess I'm worried it will change my relationship with her (and that sounds totally weird and creepy, but I hope you know what I mean). Your review brings me one step closer to taking the leap.

    4. I agree that this was much darker. I just finished this not too long ago and really enjoyed it.

    5. I saw Kiersten recently at a YA panel/signing at my local book store and I found her delightful. I hadn't actually read any of her work, but she was so animated and into the darker side of this novel that I had to get it. I can't wait to read it!
